Mantle Bridge — FAQ

Everything you need to know about bridging with Mantle Bridge

Mantle Bridge is the official token bridge connecting Ethereum and the Mantle Layer 2 network. It allows users to seamlessly transfer MNT, ETH, and supported ERC-20 tokens between both chains in a secure and trustless manner.

Built on optimistic rollup technology, Mantle Bridge inherits Ethereum's security while offering dramatically lower transaction costs and faster throughput on the Mantle side.

Mantle Bridge currently supports bridging between Ethereum Mainnet and the Mantle network. Supported assets include MNT (the native Mantle token), ETH, USDT, USDC, and various other ERC-20 tokens.

The list of supported tokens is regularly updated. You can view the full list directly in the Mantle Bridge interface when selecting your asset to bridge.

Deposit (Ethereum → Mantle): Deposits are typically confirmed within a few minutes after the Ethereum transaction is included in a block.

Withdrawal (Mantle → Ethereum): Withdrawals go through the optimistic rollup challenge period, which takes approximately 7 days before funds are claimable on Ethereum. This waiting period is a security mechanism inherent to optimistic rollup design.

Once the challenge period has passed, you will need to return to Mantle Bridge to finalize and claim your withdrawal.

Mantle Bridge does not charge any additional protocol fee on top of standard network costs. You will only pay:

• Ethereum gas fees when initiating a deposit or claiming a withdrawal on Ethereum mainnet.

• Mantle network transaction fees (significantly lower than Ethereum) when initiating a withdrawal from Mantle.

Gas prices fluctuate with network demand. For the lowest fees, consider bridging during off-peak hours.

Click the "Connect Wallet" button in the top right corner of the Mantle Bridge interface. You can connect using MetaMask, WalletConnect, Coinbase Wallet, and many other popular Ethereum wallets.

Make sure your wallet is set to the correct network before confirming any transaction. Mantle Bridge will prompt you to switch networks if needed.

Yes. Mantle Bridge is the official bridge maintained by the Mantle core team. The smart contracts powering the bridge have undergone independent security audits to ensure user funds are protected.

The bridge leverages Ethereum's security as the base settlement layer. The optimistic rollup architecture means any fraudulent state can be challenged during the withdrawal window, providing robust financial guarantees.

MNT is the native utility and governance token of the Mantle ecosystem. It is used to pay gas fees on the Mantle network, participate in governance, and access various dApps built on Mantle.

When you bridge assets to Mantle for the first time, Mantle Bridge provides a small MNT gas airdrop so you can immediately interact with the network without needing to source gas tokens separately.

Yes. After connecting your wallet, navigate to the "History" tab in the Mantle Bridge interface to see all your past and pending bridge transactions, along with their current status.

You can also track transactions using the Mantle Explorer (explorer.mantle.xyz) or Etherscan for the Ethereum side of the transaction.

First, check the transaction in the History tab and on the relevant block explorer. Deposits may take a few minutes and withdrawals are subject to the 7-day challenge period — both are normal.

If a deposit transaction has been on-chain for more than 30 minutes without appearing on Mantle, try refreshing the page and reconnecting your wallet. If the issue persists, reach out to the Mantle community on Discord or Telegram for support.

Yes. Various third-party liquidity bridges may offer faster withdrawals from Mantle to Ethereum by using liquidity pools, bypassing the 7-day challenge period. However, these services may charge additional fees and carry their own smart contract risks.

Mantle Bridge is the canonical, trustless bridge and is recommended for maximum security. Always verify any third-party bridge before using it.
